The terms and notions
The genealogy consists of the history of gender, family. This is additional historical discipline learned the history of every generation A surname is: 1) a hereditary family name passed to the children of a man, and passed to the man from his parents 2) several generations owned by one ancestors, gender, family.
The father is a man related to his children.
The mother is a woman related to children born by her.
Parents are a father and mother related to their children.
The family is generation connected with one of the ancestor.
The head of a family is an ancestor from whom this generation begins.
The relationship is the connection among the people with having common ancestors.
The kinds of relationships:
by descent or full (with ascending and the lowest lines)
lateral relationship (the same lines)
Ascending line goes from the person to his father, grandfather, great-grandfather and so on. The lowest line goes from the person to his son, great-grandson and so on. These would be the person’s descendents.
Every line has a degree of relationship. This tells us how each person in that line is related to others in the line. A wife and a husband have one common degree. Brothers and sisters would also have one common degree. The degree helps describe the relationships between generations, and how an individual’s birth is related to another’s. For example, the great-grandson is the third degree.A lateral relationship may be:
with two genders (relatives of the person and ones of his wife)
with three genders (relatives of the person and ones of his brother's wife)
The scheme of descent (full) and lateral relationship on ascending and the lowest lines
(An interesting fact: There was a prohibition on marriages in the Orthodox Church including up to the sixth degree of relationship)
The genealogical tree of a man in a graphic representation of related degrees according to ascending and the lowest lines. Today the mixed and ascending line is widespread one.
From the right Roman numerals indicate the numbers of the generation, arabic ones do ordinal numbers Men get even numbers, but women get uneven ones (except the person for whom this genealogy has been made). The number of father is doubled derivative of number of the son (daughter), but the number of mother is the one of father plus "one". The lines are connections of descent (full) relationship. This method allows to transfer graphical tree in the description of a text and the other way round. You can restore the graphical tree according to the description.
